And have you put it in the active mutator list ?

IMO, the best way to go about implementing that is to design a simple monster that uses melee weapons, so we can tweak it and test it, before making others that can use them. For instance, we can take the existing skeleton models and turn them into monsters, and use them as guinea pigs for monster-melee...
