I put up a server just to check out how it would run. So if a couple of people could hop over to check out how good/bad their ping is, it would help me decide whether to make this thing permanent
Right now it's running duel with the chaos weapons and a 4 player limit.
Hey man, just hopped on your server for a couple minutes. I am on a 100 base LAN with a gig base pipe to the world. On most dedicated servers I average 60-80 ping. I was pulling 180-220 ping on yours. A little slow for those of us that have high-speed internet, but we have other options. It would be a nice place for slower connections to hang out. The server is in Europe, from my previous experience with running a server: that makes a difference if people from the US are playing.
Anyways, I'll keep monitoring the server: I've seen a few people with below 100 ping, so it's not that bad appearantly ":)
Can't be too bad of a server, cause I jumpd on my 56k from the USA and had a few good games over there. Sure, the ping was high 300's, but for a 56k'er across the pond, that ain't bad at all.
