Thanks for the kind words Sledster, and welcome to the forums!

Could not agree more. ONS has a bit of everything, and is much fun.
Well, my opinion on the game is really not going to be good till....
Guys like you "Chaos" and all the mod builders do their great work..
Unreal tournament is an average game and I think that ATARI went the wrongway.. .. ..
Thanks. Though I want to say that what's exciting right now, is that UT2004 is in fact a great game on it's own. Sure, many mods will be made that will be fun to play, but with UT2004 being good to begin with, that just might mean more players online for these mods.
I run a Invation server in Seattle From Fairbanks, Alaska.
Im new to unreal admin. Im a Die hard Q3 Excessive ctf players for years.
What you call an old timer..
But as an Admin for UT2k3 and thinking of changing to ut2k4 I Hpoe that Chaos will stay with Vortex weapon it makes a Invation server crispyer..
Sweet! The more the merrier. We would certainly come by and play sometimes, and promote the server on our site for you, and all that jazz.
And hope you suprize me of something even better..
And one last thing if anyone will ever read this how long will it take or a rough Idea when your ut2k4 mod be readyy...

We're always thinking, and listening. Who knows what's next. (well....'cept for the beta testers maybe? )

Hard to say when 1st UT2004 version will be out, though do not expect it this weekend or anything like that. Probably be at least a few weeks, perhaps several. The plan for our 1st '04 release, is not just to have converted the mod, but also to introduce some new toys. But we're talking about stuff that's already been started though, like turrets and the MUG, and more melee animations and new AWO functions on existing guns, and more.

Anyway, welcome. And keep us posted, if you put up a Chaos server, let us know!

I thought the special edition DVD came with a free Legend of Zelda game, but then I later realized I was having a really screwed up dream. And there was a KMart that turned into some weird community center thing... and... OH GOD I'm doing too much coding aren't I?

Anyways, liking the 2K4. Except I don't understand why I was forced to do an instagib match or lose a bunch of money, and NOT GET ANYTHING FOR IT! And I noticed two weird deaths, one being I got lodged into the ceiling and once I went flying along and hit a wall with a PING! I was entertained thouroughly with both of those.

UT2k4 is probably the most satisfying game I bought in nearly a decade. There's no surprise disappointments like crap AI, poor performance, lots of random crashes, missing features, horrible design or anything else. It delivers everything they promised, which amazes the hell out of me. The only time I ever say to myself "I wish they did.....instead of...." is probably the Mothership assault map. Currently the space fighters are cool, but some tweaks can make it way better.

Everybody, even people who don't normally play first person shooters, should buy this game. It screams quality, and that's a rare thing these days. The past few years of releases were just one depressing failure after another.

I can't wait for the new Chaos.

I got my DVD drive and took UT2k4 for a spin.

They finally got it right -- and how! This is what Unreal Tournament should be. It all works now, perfectly. It runs smooth and fast, plays perfectly, and from what I've seen so far, the maps are vastly improved. These have got to be the best maps I've seen since UT1. Quake 3's maps didn't compare, and no other game has had such a great quality of maps and gameplay. Anyway, this is definately where it's at. Single Player is fun and interesting. There's a nice mix of strategy and skill. I like all of the different things that can happen in the single player game. It keeps it fresh and fun. The AI is very improved and plays well with others. My team is actually fairly intelligent, as long as I pay attention to thier strengths and give em good orders. I remember the game I played on Face classic, one of my teammates had a 98% accuracy with sniper rifle as favorite weapon, so I had her on defense, my flak cannon expert was on roam, and the other guy was offense. The team played excellently. My bots would grab the redeemer and vaporize the enemy attack team at just the right time. I was really impressed by how well they worked together. Much improved over both UT and UT2k3, and definately better than Quake 3.

Hands down, this game rocks. The engine is stable, and there will be mods for just about every concievable gametype. UT2k4 is going to be tough competition for any other FPS to come out this year, IMO, once the mods get going. There'll be a mod to compete with just about every other game out there.

I just gotta say, I'm impressed and I haven't even gotten to the vehicles yet. And that was probably the most hyped feature of UT2k4... Just wait till I get my hands on the new Unrealed... hehehe

This is what UT2003 should've been when it was released! Like Shadowstar said, this is what UT should be. A lot of improvement and a lot more fun to play :D

btw, I've just registered so...hi :)
