CUT2 in UT2k4?
Hoverboard looks excellent. Though I have some suggestions for the textures.
All the vehicles I've played in look used. Look like they've been in the field a while, through some mud, scratched, abused. Not dented mind you, but everything else. The hoverboard looks like it just rolled right out of the factory. IMHO, I think it should look like it's been used and abused itself, just not dented or anything. Hence, just a texture update.
Too a much lesser degree, I make the following suggestions...
Perhaps make an afterburner flame when the thing is given forward thrust. Or is this flame planned and will be in the blackened area?
Also, a fast spinning turbo fan texture would be very cool for the jet intake texture.
Also, (don't know how hard this would be) but having it so that the player would crouch when at top speed (as a skier would tuck down) and/or having it so whenever the board lands hard or does an upwards boost (if planned) that the player temporarily crouch so that it looks as though inertia is acting on him/her.

Well Sir, the Current Design for the Hover Board will have no weapons. A player on a hoverboard will use the weapons that are in their inventory. Unfortunatly, the board would be too heavy to hover if a cooling mechanism was put on the thruster turbines, so they have an auto shutoff mechanism when they begin to over heat. Once a short cool down period expires the mechanism disengages and the rider is free to fire the turbines again. THe big plus of the board will be that the Grapple Hook will be usable while riding the board. Hence a rider can hook other Vehicles and "Ski" behind them without being dragged across the ground as if he was being drawn and quartered. In the case of air craft, if the Hook becomes disengaged the board will most likely save the player from certin death.Nemephosis wrote:Does the hoverbopard have weapons or will it just fly and crash into people and monsters like the Manta? For some reason i feel the strange urge to design a troop transport, and something called a okmo. And oh yea, Iv had ideas for the Hover Bike, and a Troop Transport since we found out that UT2k4 had Vehicles

So yes this is truly a case of Great Minds! hehehehehe
