a lance or a staff of some sort. you could have cutter blades spinning like saws on each side of the staff. or you could have the lance have the freeze and burn effect. switch with the AWO button. from normal to ice to fire. like a lance version of the mug. I am not saying this should be included in the first UT2004 release if it slows the release date. maybe in a patch. one animation for both would be for them to spin it in their hands.

also you CAN bring the melee weapons into all gametypes. just label them as weapons that can be used in any gametypes, like you do with every other custom weapons. but only by using the chaos gametypes can players really do some fancy tricks. the weapons for all gametypes only give fire and alt-fire while the chaos gametypes can give those neat sword and weapon moves you showed us. also you could have like the weapons randomly replace one weapon and only one melee weapon is allowed in the match.

We may come back and add a few more melee weapons after we get the current work load done. But not sure if/when that will be. And there are some techicnal reasons why we can not add them to all games as a Mutator.

I am not saying as in throwing weapons! alt fire could make you strike low and fire could make you strike high! pressing both could make you spin the weapon.

I realise that. even as a weapon it needs its animations in the other gametypes, otherwise you could be holding the bastard sword like a very heavy rapier. though that is not a bad idea. you could make a rapier for the players in all gametypes. it would be placed like a normal gun and look like it was just a heavy set rapier. you could have primary act like its own stab movement and alt be like a cloak or a long range weapon. even a shield!
