* Will ChaosUT have it's own .exe file?
If yes, will the chaos gametypes only show when you started with that .exe or will they also show when starting ut2004 the normal way? So will the Chaos gametypes only show up when you started chaosut on its own or also when you started the normal game.
I hope they will only show when starting chaosut, because the gametype selection list will be way to long. I like to keep the mods and vanilla ut2004 as seperated as possible!
* Will ChaosUt have it's own .ini to store the chaosut keybinds in. So that there won't be conflicts between my normal and my chaos keybinds?
* Will the DoC gametype be in the next public build?
1) Sorta. It will be accessable only through the mod menu or through a dedicated shortcut (basically the UT2004 shortcut with the mod switch flipped on). So you can have a seperate chaos.exe.. or activate it in game, but it has to be activated in one way or another, it will not show up in "vanilla" UT2004.
2) Yes, mods create their own UT2004.ini and User.ini clones
3) AFAIK: no

No exe, but it will be easy enough to have a shortcut for it (I doubt one would be included, as people have different paths to their UT2004 directory). This would just be a command line switch to the regular UT2004.exe, and would have the same affect as switching to ChaosUT2 through the Community menu. And Chaos will use it's own ini's when started this way, to keep keybinds and other options seperate from default install.
I don't think there's any way DoC will be in the next PR.

Correct me if I am wrong though.
Yes...

Start with Choasut.exe (or sumtin like that): You get all the ChoasUT gametypes + the vanilla gametypes played with the chaosUT weapons.
Start with standard.exe: You don't see anything of Chaos.
Can you add the feature that the ChaosUT mutator will show up when using the normal .exe? So we could also play new gametypes like jailbreak with the ChaosUT weapons? Really hope so.
So:
ChaosUT.exe: everything chaos + normal gametypes with Chaos weapons
UT2004.exe: nothing chaos except the mutator to use in other gametypes
I am just nitpicking here. I will love ChaosUT anyways
Well the problem is that in order to use the mutator without running the mod (via mod menu or a seperate startup), you would have to add the chaos stuff to the default paths architecture, which basically defeats the purpose of having the mod menu since you would load all the packages and all the code, just the gametypes would not be displayed.
So basically this is where it stands right now:
You have your normal UT2004 startup shortcut. Plain vanilla UT, no chaos gametypes or mutator (they are not even loaded)
You have a Chaos shortcut ( not an .exe) that is your normal UT2004 startup with the -Mod=ChaosUT2 switch added at the end. You have all the chaos gametypes and the mutator is availible.

And I'm hoping against hope that it does not stay that way.
I believe Jb is working on it, and with any luck we'll have that fixed before release. Keep your fingers crossed.
This is more an issue for the devs, but basically the answer to getting the mutator running, as i said earlier, is adding the Chaos folders as Paths in the main UT2004.ini file. Doing that completely circumvents the mod structure, however.

However, you still have what is in my opinion the best thing about the mod structure - that chaos files are kept in subdirectories, out of regular files. Of course, anyone could have set it up this way in previous UT's as well.
The current system we have in development (which is alway subject to change) is follow:
Start UT2004, activate ChaosUT2 mod via the Community Menu. UT2004 restarts with the chaos stuff loaded. Get a nice pretty chaos menu, ect. See both the chaos games and ChaosUT mut. Note you can make or we will have the UMOD install make a short cut to star UT2k4 with Chaos loaded.
However for now we have removed the cummunity link on our menu. Since UT2k4 has to restart anyways having one seemd to make no sense as it would be just as quick to restart UT your self with the proper swtich.
Now to get the user to have ChaosUT2 Mut show up in normal UT2k4 you make one simple edit to your main ut2004.ini setting and tada. Life is good. Of course there may be some issues we will have to address and this is by no means a perfrect solution but for now its the best idea we can think of....
If I load Jailbreak into the Chaos structure, will I be able to use it when I load ChaosUT2? I really want to see what I can do with both mods working. Is there any hard coding reason why they wouldn't work together?
Jingle, jingle, boom. Oops, you're dead.
That sucks cause I wanted to play....
But let the show go on!
From what ive seen JB and Chaos AND Jailbreak work hand in hand. You dont need any special code becaus Jailbreak loads as a gametype and nota mod . so its still there in your gametype list when you have chaos activated.
As to compatibility , thats still to be seen , but (and im no coder so dont quote me on this) i dont think theres anything in chaos that would step on the toes of Jailbreak , or vice versa.
