linux

Post by phos-phoros »

ok, first off I have extracted the .zip file into /usr/local/games/ut2004
I have added the info that can be found at http://forums.chaoticdreams.org/viewtop ... ight=linux
to my ut2004.ini file which resides in ~/.ut2004
after having copied this to the ut2004.ini ChaosUT2 is now being displayed as a mutator when hosting a game, but still from within the community section it does not show up as a mod. How can I configure ut2004 to recognize ChaosUT2 as a mod and be selectable from with the community section? or even....(since I am still somewhat of a linux n00b) how can I launch ut2004 from a shell with the ChaosUT2 mod being active?

the command ut2004 -mod="ChaosUT2" works to launch the ChaosUT2 form a shell. maybe I should add this to my ut2004.ini? but I have no clue as to where, and would prefer it to be selectable from within game so I can enable and disable it at will. Anyhow, great mod everyone....I've been waiting for this release for quite sometime.

do you have the mod ini in the "right" place as this is what is needed to get it to show up in the comunity menu:

UT2004\ChaosUT2\UT2K4Mod.ini

yes the UT2K4Mod.ini is in the appropriate place, everything seems to have extracted as it should have.

The community menu and mod system were written with windows in mind, so they work a little strangely on macs and linux. As long as the commandline startup works.. i think you might have to go with that. Unless Moon knows how to get it workin.
