Bot Ai in CTF and KOTH - Dumb-

ok i tried something to get team games with melee going..

started up the cahos mod, and used the random weapons spawn and replaced all weapons on the map with the air gun..

this means air rifle cpp and Mellee, the only let down to this is the fact that in both KOTH and CTF, the bots dont really engage in mellee, they just keep running by, even if you chop them in the back, then dont stop to take care of the threat.. .just keep running.. its a bit...gah.. in ctf the flag is what matters,
in KOTH they dont even run to the hill, just run around and pick up items.

is this a bug? i didnt see it in the list of bugs?

erm,for me they do do it ok

KOTH:Run to the top,a bit blind when they are on the ground,but when on the hill its a battleground
CTF:They do it OK

I hope 3.1 patch will have a box to check so they only use melle weps,the mutator propably fudged it up

Hmmm not sure whats going on with that. I know in normal KoTH bots play ok. The worry about getting to the hill more so then figthing back. I am think TKATK is right...something is not quite right with what the mut did as it should not make a working gametype quit working right. Maybe take a look at the ChaosUT2. log to see if there are any/many errors?

Yeah ill go chech it out.
was using quad jump utrpg randomweapons speed muts. (random weapons to remove all the actual weapons and reaplce with the air gun.... kinda makes only melee avalable.. maybe thats the issue... sicne the bots never actually tun up the hill.. only around... in 25 minutes there were only bots on the top for like 15 seconds..

Ok I found a way to force KoTH into melee and saw the same thing last night. I have tweaked the AI already to correct for most of this now.

oooooh :D that was good news! :) thanks..
someone should make a mod where the start weapon you get is just a very simple non attacking shield or something. (its really irritating making a semi perfect swing and being splattered by a shield gun wielding monkey :P and make it a real low prioity weapons

i switched in the ion painter. and saw six bots standing around on a level shooting non deadly rays at eachother.. a lil silly :P there are some great mods out there..

the uneven teams one seemed to work well also.... me and my mate against 6 bots... that was back when the ai was a lil nuts :)
