Congrats on MSU phase 3!
dunno if this is the right spot, but I didn't see a thread yet and this DOES deal with Chaos, but you guys have made Best FPS finalists. We're hoping for the big win!

You know i personally think red orchestra sucks just the gameplay and such i really don't like having no crosshair i also tried playing with bots and...they are restards just sat at the spawn running in circles...maybe if it had a few tweaks i'd like it but i have mohaa and well ...just leave the WWII type of things alone

it got in,hope it gets further

RO is for me everything that unreal tournament 2004 goes against
Unreal fps is fast in your face action with futuristic weapons and requires lightning reflexes to truely master
RO or "battle field 1942" as ill will be calling it is slow and tactical, its a tactical fps, and its realistic. real doesnt always equal fun, and for me getting killed in 2-3 shots doesnt equal fun, walking instead of running doesnt equal fun, and having to stand in an area for 8 years before it gets captured doesnt equal fun.
Unreal onslaught mode takes alot of team work and there are plenty of vehichles for everyone, so you dont hafta walk most of the time, not true in battlefield. In battlefield when the vehichles are gone you need to walk, and then you finally make it to the combat only to be killed in one hit by a smart alleck sniping.
War games are unimginative. It takes so little creativity to come up with a war game, and the thats why the king of uncreativity , EA , distributes battlefield.
Battlefield takes the unreal engine and utilizes it to make unimaginative tactical realistic garbage.
Oh and dont forget the pitiful AI that battlefield has, but hey who has time to work on the AI ? We have to make slightly higher polygon models of vietnamese people so we can sucker idiots into giving us their money for essentially the same game.
ok... that last bit was a direct shot at the real battlefield but hey, guess what the people behind RO are gonna do after they win? Either that or rot in their parents' basements living off the cash and ruining perfectly good games by modding them.
on a side note, next to chaos my favorite "mod" has been clone bandits just because its hilarious and creative =P . anyone else play it? =)

And thanks to the rest too of course, but we'd appreciate it if you didn't slam other mods at the same time, esp here on our boards. I'm sure those guys worked very hard on their mod too.
Sure, I have opinions on some of these other mods as well, but we wanna show some respect on these forums. Please don't use this thread, or these forums, as a place to slam other mods.

Nah, that's a little harsh. No one ever said you'd have to create a game like UT itself for the contest. RO is a TC using the Unreal engine. Nothing wrong with that. And for BFV I must say it's a game I really enjoy and I have played it quite a lot.

Personally, for realism I like Soldner for its big maps and destructable -- well, everything. Nothing is more satisfying than rolling into the enemy base in a tank and reducing the entire complex to a smouldering pile of rubble, or hopping into a smoking crater to salvage weapons and equipment from the dead (and vaporized) enemy soldiers who were standing there a few minutes ago... Hey, it may not be ultra-realistic like BFV or whatever, but you can't beat destroyable maps, and all the tactical options that presents.
For hard-core action FPS gameplay, UT2k4/Chaos can't be beat.
