un problemo

For the past hour or two everytime i try to join a duel game its been making me download some file called chaosEsounds3 then when the file finishes downloading it tells me it failed to connect to the server. Iv tried every server and they all do the same thing, i rebooted and tried again and the same thing happens so...what the heck?

i just re-installed ut2k4 and chaos evolution and its still doing the same thing

k so this is about the 19th time chaosEsounds3 has downloaded and i give up, im gonna go play some regular onslaught, if you guys know whats going on tell me later.

Because the most servers are not updated yet, try the TOC server.

iv tried every server and this just started happening out of no where, one minute im fine the next i cant join anything

what do you mean by updated? is there a new patch? is that the problem?

So I take it your ok now? Any chance you can tell us what was wrong just in case someone else has this same issue?

yeah basically if you dont have the patch or you do have the patch, any server that does or doesnt have the patch yet will be feeding you the 8 meg file chaosEsounds3 and when you finish downloading it youll get a message that will simply tell you you have failed to connect to the server.

So if you have the patch and the server your attempting to join doesnt or if you dont and the server does you wont be able to join.

and ya i figure alot of people will have this issue cuz so far i see 90% of the duel people playing on un-updated servers soley because they cant join the updated ones, how do i know thats the reason? who on earth likes to play on the firehall map, i mean cmon =P
