While frollicking with the fellas in a duel server, I thought about how we could make the spectators in 4 man duel have some sort of fun while they wait their turn to fight. a Betting system! you bet hit points or shield points and if you win, you get that added to your health in the next round for being the winner!
You can change your bet all you like, as long as the guy you originally bet on didnt already die, then you've obviously already lost. But if there is a good final 2 man fight, and you decide the other guy has a better chance from your original guy, you can change your bet! Bet too much, you may have low health, or you may get lucky. I'd say 50 health max bet so you can never have less than 50 or more than 150 starting the game. It should requires at least 2 spectators to place bets. If the round ties, then no points are awarded, only those who's player already died before the time ended lose points.
personally I think that as soon as the round starts you get one and only one bet. You can't change him if you don't think he has much of a chance after 10 seconds have passed. It beats just switching your bets back and forth whenever one player has more health then the other.

as if!! credits! pfft whats that do for you, health points makes it a "real" gamble. If you are a bad gambler, then you gamble with your life! its like real world learning for the kids before they go to the bookie!
Since the new version all of the 1v1 maps have been modified to 4-way duel maps, so there isn't nearly as much waiting time as there used to be. But instead of credits or health or armor, maybe it should be able to enhace the weapon itself. Like make it 50% stronger or 50% weaker and make it glow cool colors like red and blue.
or you could implement health, armor, credits, and weapon enhancements all into one huge bundle of gambling goodness. Then afterward you can get a medal for the most net gain while gambling.
