well I was originally going to mention those but i didnt because UT2004 already assigns points and such for certain actions in Onslaught. if you hit F1 during a hot game you'll notice that you can sometimes have a score that is much higher than your frags. especially when youre capturing and destroying nodes.hence online not all points come from frags. I had planned for it to use these points , but I dont know the conversions! so I guess I'll take that post for a guideline and lay down a point key.
Remember ponts are counted for the entire team not individually. although individual scores are kept as well.I feel Killing vehicles should count for more pointe due to the Amount of damage that vehicle can inflict.
-1 Frag:1
-Making a node: 15
-Destroying a node:15
-Destroying a manta:3
-Destroying a Tank:8
-Destroying a Hellbender:5
-Destroying a Leviathon:20
-Destroying a Raptor:8
-Destroying a Scorpion:4
-Killing sprees:(spree level:Points) 5:5 , 10:15 , 15:20 , 20:30 etc. Remember that the person doing the killing spree also recieves points for each frag in the killing spree
-Multikills:Points=people KilledX2
*Defense bonus*
when a team's Powercore is vulnerable , all points that team acquires are doubled.

to counteract that the grenades could just be shot off as bouncing grenades with 4 second timers. that would give them ample clearance to shoot up and come down , and bounce off anything in their way. and the way I had originally planned was to have them shoot out one at a time. and I dont mean for them to shoot out of the Floaty part of the node , I meant for them to shoot up out of the Flat Base on ground level. and at a steep angle so they didnt hit the floaty part.

I can just see a possible situation: enemy leviathan comes around the corner, you hop into the nearest raptor, take off, and up pops this box in the middle of your screen. Seconds later your toast.DarK_AssassiN wrote:At the beginning everyone could vote for a leader. Then during the battle, anyone can go up and choose a special action and the leader hsa like a little PDA thingy that pops up asking if its okay to do that. So everyone would have to ask permission from the leader
I suppose it wouldn't be that bad if it was just a small window in the corner of the screen though.
Reality is that part of imagination we all agree on.
N00bs and Llamaing;
How about, you can only use the total points of teammates within a certain radius of the node, rather than the entire team - adds new tactical decisions to the loop without requiring a captain which will put off a cetain proportion of the potential target audience. Also, wouldn't it be possible to prevent team switching in the middle of a match somehow?
(goddess, I sound like a sales rep or something
)
EDIT: I just saw this on the atari forums; Onslaught Resources. This guy seems to have had a similar idea, and has it working. Maybe you could talk to him about this (you can never have too many team mmbers...
