Problem

When trying to join certain servers, I get an error message about incompatible files (jailbreak.u or some wierd cache file). I think I must have deleted the wrong file because now I can't get into any servers.

I am going to have to reinstall Chaos so anyone have any links?

are you trying to join a jailbreak server?
if yes:do you have the jaibreak service pack?
if no:Do you by any chance have copied the jailbreak folder to the ut2004 or chaosut folder?
have you tried emptying your cache?

it happens on certain jailbreak servers and also on chaos servers. Think its a file in my cache that is doing it though.

Id say 12 times a day I get that "Incompatible Files :\ef78dc78x878c7x8c7.uxx" message.. In fact I get it whenever I Switch servers. But i just hit reconnect and it connects just fine everytime.

tuna,its propably either youre cache or you havent upgraded JB if you have it installed,check if it happens on standart ut2k4 servers becouse the ones youre connection to may have JB as a gametype

I figure I am just going to have to reinstall both JB and chaosut. I am just aking for the links.

One thing to watch for is duplicate files. If you have tried everyting else... patching, cache cleaning, reinstall and it still acts up look for a dupe file. Chaos has it's own folder in the ut2004 directory. If a chaos file gets out of say the chaos\textures directory and into the ut2004\textures directory it can cause problems similar to what you are getting. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
