I'l be quick

1) A mix between a firemine and a redeemer and a napalm grenade. primary fire plants the mine (superwep = 1 ammo) and secondary fire detonates it. It has a big boom (revil) and sprays napalm all over the place. If you have not placed the mine, you can kamikazi-detonate it. AWO makes it proximity detonateable, tripwire or remote control. when shot at, it detonates.

2) Kaboodles' player config idea

3) Sombody's swinging weapon idea. Here's an extension.

Damage = (wepspeed * sharpness * mass * bodypart_hit)/1000

Eg, for a katana hitting a player's stomach:

Damage = (20 * 100 * 10 * 3)/1000 = 60

BTW: when a weapon hits another weapon or a player's body, it should stop moving.

1)no more superweapon,i think 2 is enough
2)no need for another thread about it
3)Animation speed cant be changed soooo wepspeed wont work,and the others are just cheese

BTW)would certainly impair gameplay imo,try muralis,something doesnt feel right there,very not right

Actually.. for the BTW) option I do wonder how that would affect game play. Cuz if you swing and hit a wall, the animation stops properly, but it also allows you to swing again sooner, so TKATK may be right that it may change gameplay and make attacks even faster since they recover faster. and with the default damage set so high, it would mass slaughterings. (God bless Rythm's Damage reducer mut :) )

I don't like the damage reduction mut. Oh well, that's just me. :?

Well, I personally Hate the cheap shots that are caused by some of the engine limitations such as the weapon multi-hits, 180 degree swing range, and just lag in general, Nothing like that one lucky non-headshot to take 75 or even 100 health away and make the game boring to play. This mod and gametype is a melee fighting game, and I think the real Idea in mind was to match skills, not lucky one-hits. Head shots, for all weapons except for the single axe are ok since it does hold some value, but a weak half of a backswing that takes 100 health in one shot is the best way to get me off of a server. Yes, some people like the instagib style of play, but you'll notice the really skilled ones on the servers are those that enjoy the actual battle and strategy skills. For me its not about winning, thats just the bonus, I like a great battle.. and until they allow you to set the damage for each stance separately, (maybe ill make a mut for that) then the damage reducer makes my server the "skill" server where you must fight for your right... to party! (lol).

And I think the players like it there, even if they dont like the reduced damage, you can see how much better the battles are between players. It indirectly helps them to get better, thus helping us to have more competition :) , plus it doesnt scare the newbs away so easily, and we definitely need as many players an we can get for this mod, both duel and Gun gametypes

The lucky swings is that it doesnt check if it is THAT hit or THAT hit when going thru the head to do a headshot,but checks if it goes thru the head at all,if you want to avoid headshots,avoid getting hit

I love a great fight myself, but I hate it when I run out of time! (kami)
Secondly, I have already determined the amount of damage many of the weapons do per hit, and it's just frustrating when I know I hit someone 4 times and I know they should be dead, but they're not! Plus, the one-hit kills add more risk to the game, and for me, the risk makes it fun! (up)

Ooh here's some more ideas to add to the list:

1) Add a cool fwooshy effect to the lunge to make it look cooler. Plus, I would like to see an increase in the lunge's range

2) Put all of the back/front/side flip animations for all of the characters and allow people to use them in online melee fights. (I know there's probably some technical problem here, but it would look so awesome!)

ive got a realy good idea howabout you make a mutator or somthing that yourable to make your own blade not like in coad but pick what it dose and how i looks and its name example the templar with the dagger stile blade or an ax like blade or have it so you ca make it freeze or burn or poision

what is COAD,a game?about the templar with dagger blade i dont think its worth it,the weapon skin choices seemed much more realistic and better,freeze burn poison....nah

(angry) Spelling errors dont cause flamewars , but aggressively/persistently correcting people about simple things like spelling do. keep that in mind . . .
