A dedication to each melee wep.
perhaps you guys can make a model for each melee wep. like a samurai for the katana or a viking for the hammer. sorry if that was already mentioned. also you could have a level dedicated to that melee wep. like a zen garden for the katana and a viking ship for the hammer. this can work for something like duel 2. in the new duel you have two hand weps. daggers remain normal. akimbo katana's. a knights shield with the templar. etc. this is just my idea. although it would be really cool to have two katana's!

You know, the model "Ravage" goes incredibly well with the Katana.

You know thats not a bad idea! Shields! most weapons have a free hand (save the daggers) and since blocking is not working all that great as is, a shield would cover more area and be more likely to block. Each weapon could come with its own individualized design for a shield.. or you could add a tab for Shields and we could mix and match. Make it only block when you hit the Alt Fire, leave the weapon parrying/block tho!

How about the ability to choose what weapon goes with each hand? Like a shield/dagger combo, or dual katanas, or Templar/gauntlet combo. Or you could go with one weapon to make it more effective. Primary fire would use the left hand weapon and secondary swings the right hand one.
What about customizable armor? You can choose to put armor plates on your body to soften blows or put a big ol' gauntlet in your hand as an effective shield device. A helmet would be effective in reducing headshots and stuff.
Of course, holding more weapons and wearing more armor should make you move more slowly and possibly hit with less force.

Think about the infinate number of weapon/ shield combos you could have just by throwing in a handful and allowing players to mix and match, a wide covering , but cumbersome tower shield, a light weight but low protective buckler, kite shields, round shields , possibly to fit the bastard sword's profile a bone like shield comprised of human rib cages or something crazy-ass like that.
