Yes, I do.

I am currently going thru single player deal. And I'm up to recruiting my team and defeating them. Stuck on that part. Trying to beat the players I picked on PHobos2.

Oceanic was a pain, winning that one almost made me jump from me chair.

Anybody else doing the SP thing?

yea I did. enjoyed it. But due to time restricktions I only played on the default bot settings so I dont think it really counts.

some of the maps are truly breathtaking. Others are ok. Over all I liked the style of play however the weapons....I dont know...just did not feel as solid. And yes I know I will have to play it more to get a better feel. But I have went though and played each map at least twice now trying to get a better feel for the weapons and the map flow. I really liked the Double DOM thing. Something about it was kind of fun. I dont know how many times I got a last second save

But I'm only playing skilled bots because...well, I can frag these ones

Mark,

when you were playing against Malcom, did he get better? I had to play him a few times to beat him. Each time I got a good 4 or 5 frags lead on him, then no mater what he went on a 4 or 5 frag in a row. In fact I beat him with the final score like you did (ie it was a very close game). And that map, holy heck. I dont know how many times I fell into those pits when I did not want to

Hehe, cool Loth! Maybe that was supposed to be some sort of put-down, for spamming the flak, but I like it! Bring on the FlakMonkey!

I dunno Joe, he seemed pretty tough right of the bat. Truth is, only was I was able to beat him was to hunker down in the tunnel in the middle for most of the round. Or go up top, like in pic, and get him as he came up the lift.

Trying to fight him in the open was a joke. He has deadly aim. For example, every single time I tried to peek over the edge to see if he was coming up the lift, well, if he was....he would headshot me with LG. Everytime, on the 1st shot too.

I beat him, but only by forcing it inside, close melee flak and RL fighting.

Jb ==> I've long suspected that UT bots and now UT2K do "remarkable" things when I start playing well. Whether Auto Adjust Skill is on or off doesn't seem to matter as far as I can tell. It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes a bot appears to become unstoppable for a while. Not the whole game but say a few minutes, usually after I've taken the lead and am playing well (maybe this is why it doesn't happen all the time

)
It is at these times that I've been fragged in pretty incredible manners. The number of headshots is uncountable.
Is it possible the coders wrote in some "humility" so that if a player starts displaying some skillz it triggers some bot to spank him brutally for a while?

I guess it could be my imagination, but usually my imagination isn't this annoying.

Hehe. I must have missed this comment before.

I kinda doubt it Loth, but you never know!

And man...I often times swear while playing "I made that shot!!! NO WAy! The computer is Wrong!!" Hehe. Sometimes I think I'm just faster than my 800 processor!

I think you're wrong there. My machine and I are on excellent terms and have the utmost respect for one another. Besides, it knows I live four storeys above hard, unforgiving concrete. Only had to show it the window once.

Sir Flagg --> I too often find myself uttering similar such things... part of my enjoyment of gaming I think. hehe-Moo!

...but I'm sure not all of what I was saying in my above post is imagined! I recall reading somewhere that the bots in the UT2K demo were tuned down for the retail game because they located, rotated and shot too quickly. I still think the little buggers cheat sometimes!
