Now don't you hit me with that fish! ;)

Raising the polycount of SPA's proxy took me 30 minutes.
Creating a full blown character model including the initial design, sketches, modeling, unwrapping, rigging, texturing, exporting, creating the shaders, writing the unreal files and testing can take weeks. And I am very short on time ATM.
Plus the pics were done a long time ago.

So, no, it's not a bad thing. :P

You should build a midrange-high Poly ProxyPlayermodel . . .

Ceramic Proxy

Post by The Rabbit! »

Well what I need is a real good model to work with. Front, back and side so I can make the little guy accurate as possible. Might take some time though. Haven't been able to get to my studio in a while and the clay is prolly rocks by now. Not a bad thing I prefer to mix my own clay. heh heh... Proxy Statue here we go

Oh yeah who do I ask permition from?
I'm a hoppy bunnie, a little bunnie, how are you?
If your hoppy, then you are a hoppy bunnie, I'm glad your hoppy.

Actually, it would be Spa or Jb that you would want to ask about this. However, I can probably help you anyway.

I don't think any of us would mind if you made yourself a proxy statue, or a statue to give away. We would most likely see that as a compliment, a statement that you enjoyed our work. In that case, all is well, and thanks!

But as you are aware, we do this for free. Aside from a couple retail CDs, and a couple of contests, we do not get money for this. We do not even place a "donate money to us please" link on our web site, as so many other mods do. We have never felt that was proper.

That being the case, I would imagine that the Chaos Team would 'officially' tell you this;

Sure, make proxy statues. But absolutely no money can change hands! If you wanna make a statue for somebody else, you can not charge - or even ask - for money for your work. No money for your material, and no money for shipping, packaging, handling, or anything.

If you are still interested in making proxy statues for yourself, or making them and packaging and shipping them completely free to others, than knock yourself out.

Proxie Statue.

Thanks, Flagg! I just wanted to make sure that it was ok to make the little guys. I didn't plan on selling em. Just wanted to make the little critter. They are cute, cuddly, and they will blow up the guy trying to rob your house. It's The Chaos Proxie Security System. They Hop, They Bounce, They Sproing! They will get in your face and Expolde! They will chase ya and catch ya and make you regret picking that guys pocket. They are The Chaos Proxies! And they are out to Get You!
Sorry about that I get into one of thoes totally neat goof modes and I just have to get silly. Ok so guys help me out, where can I find me a defent photo of our favorite little guys? A 3D model would be best so I can look at it from all angles. Gosh I love proxies!

Stage One

Stage one, Getting the right kind of clays. Well I have over 200 lbs of clay I think I'm gonna go with a low fire white fire clay. Might be neat. Now for the Glazes.

lol that would be awesome. i could throw proxy mine statues at my friends in hopes that they will detonate.

i could make some out of metal, but my clay working skills match the skill seen in retirement home clay projects.
