Network issues with ChaosUT2 PRv3.5

Post by Rabidus »

Hi,

Got an issue with networking whether LAN or WAN. I have UT2004 installed on two computers at home, when one connects to the other I get an error that says “Chaos_006 Texture mismatch” or something like that. I tried to uninstall chaos, no success. I uninstalled UT2004 completely and reinstall Chaos, no success. I have copied the exact file on the server (chaos_006 in the textures folder) over to the client, still get that error. I have tried with friends over and they get the same error too, no matter which system we set up to serve. Any ideas?

Thanks!

When I try to start a normal dm lan server (listen) I get.

Could be a number of reasons why this is. How are you starting the server? And how do your clients try to connect? Are you both using the provided start menu short cut to Chaos?

Did you use the UMOD or zip versions? As a miss-placed chaosut.u or chaosgames.u can cause this error.

I used the UMod, is there something that is off with it?

Thanks for your help!

PC running XP, 2.0 Ghz 512 RAM 128 Radeon Pro.

Don't think MAC has a UMod, but I could be wrong.

Thanx

Can you double check and make sure the chaosgames and chaosut .u files are only in the ChaosUT2\system dir and no where else.

How again are you starting the server and clients????
