Cool Ideas....To me at least

Cool Ideas....To me at least

My ideas for Chaos UT2 (UT2k4) :lol:

1.) It would be cool if you had some brass knuckles (with a beserk mode like on the doom series).
2.) I'm sure you guys have alreaqdy thought about it.....but it would be cool to have a chaos assault mode or something. You could have a level where an army of people come out in some type of fortress or castle and you would have to defeat them all with melee before you could move on.
3.) Maybe since there is a knight there yould be a dragon to ride that shoots flames with primary fire, and the alt fire could snatch people up or something.
4.) maybe there could be some spells or sometyhing for melee, I believe that sort of stuff goes along with the medieval era, which indeed is chaotic.
5.) maybe there could be a patch that makes all player models unique. For example each model could utalize different weapons or each model had completely different weapons all together.
6.)Maybe there could be an Onslaught mode for chaos with Medieval vehicles and weapons (seige towers, catapults, etc.) And instead of reactors there could be some sort of powersouce Like a crystal or something evil.

this is just imo


1:Would be a pain/impossible to animate
2:Neatral here
3.Erm,SK is doing that,and how do dragons fit into a modern timeline,it said that the knight was brung via time machine from the holy crusades
4.SK is doing that,this isnt meanth to be a just melle and spell project afaik,was discussed at some period afaik
5.GOD,NO,GOD,you just asked for 50+ new animations sets,which itself would take a year atleast

As a quick introduction, MichaelM is here to take a stab at mapping for Chaos, and to see if he can bear working with this group of freaks. (looking right at myself)

Thanks for the warm welcome... I will be starting on several maps (2-3) in the near future) I have some cool plans. The map I sent to LoQtUS is just the layout of some sort of evil fortress in a Hellish terrain (which is nowhere near complete.

about my ideas...thats all they are, I'm sure I can come up with some better ones. Unfortunately I would not be able to code or animate them myself yet, I am learning though :oops:

just polish the ideas a bit

like for not every character,but for every race...like egyptians,robots,costum get a special weapon after wining a round or doing a double kill in suplement to the standart wep

Hi everyone,

I really like your mod and I have a suggestion; I really like Melee and I was wondering if you could make an option so that only melee weapons are available for all gametypes ( not only for Duel). I don't know if someone already gave that idea but I think it would be cool. Keep up the good work. :)

i remember seeing a screenie with a melle only checkbox showing a feature of 3.01,was it for koth,dm,cctf

Its only been verified for DM. We could add it to KoTH. ChaosCTF is a different story as that would take some bot work and some of the team was against it. So the more we know what you folks want the more we can make you happy...

I think one of the areas that need to be worked on is the GUI in chaos.

I think the main menu could be polished a bit to make it look more 'chaotic'. From my opinion it should look grungy and more corrugated metal + blood. Maybe custom fonts? The embossed effect in the current ChaosUT main menu looks a little cheesy :(

Also i think the colours should be toned down in the loading screens and made more simplistic. The pictures in the loading screens have way too much colour.

Agreed,the loading screen's are way too bright,i liked the UT2004 stock syle more...more artistic

the fonts could really be replaced by some more evil one's,agreed

Lol i dont really like the UT2k4 ones either...what u need in chaos is some dark ominous pic...maybe like sumfin from max payne?

The menu could also use bitmaps for the options as opposed to using the fonts. Ive seen it done in Anomaly and it loox really really awesome! 8O

I support ideas 3, 4 and 5 thouroughly, though i think there could be some clearing up on idea 5. Kaboodles suggested (and I wholly agree) on having a menu/mutator to 'customise' the char you are playing with. You could be given 50 points and could adjust your agility, strength, jump height, etc. as well as have special options such as springs (jump higher), vampiric (self explanatory) etc. Each selection uses up points. This could be just like the Speciesthingy (I forget what its called) mutator except you could be a night and have the properties of a juggernaught.

Also, the spells idea needs some working on. Just a suggestion: each player has a spellbook (or wand, etc.) along with their melee wep. The wand/spellbook allows you to 'initiate' one of four runes with primary fire (runes change with the SwitchAmmo button) and secondary fire actually casts the complete spell. AWO resets the spell. Different combinations of runes cast different spells (Eg: 1423 - heal, 241312 - fireball, 34123 - lightning strike, etc. where the numbers represent the runes). Thus the person who can remember the various combinations and cast them quickly will be the victor. Skill and practice is neccesary.

Skill points/RPG:In execution ive tried alot of mutators/mod's that have used that,and the balance is completely broken then...nothing could beat the super high bunny jumping sniper
