I'll be honest. Since Chaos moved to the new Community tab, rather than being in the gametypes or a mutator, I've almost never played it. Fun as it is, it just seems like a pain in the ass to "re-boot" UT as a mod. Maybe it's the fact that any tweaking done to my user.ini is left behind, but I don't think that's it, really. It's just the implementation of the change, I think. The clumsy return to desktop and new splash screen make it seem like I'm leaving UT behind to go play something else, which is a strange feeling, since I obviously wanted to do something UT-ish. In the end, I find myself almost never using the Community Mod capability of 2k4.
Does anyone else think the mod-switching system, as done in 2k4, harms the community of the mods by making them feel completely seperate from UT?
Mod system isolating the fun?

Or use the Chaos batch file in the ChaosUT2 folder. I just shortcut directly to that actually.

I don't mind the community tab... Its a handy "feature" ripped from Half-Life I think.
The problem I have with it, is that when you exit your mod it kicks you completely out of UT. I know this isn't the place to rant, but I'd like it much more if it brought you back to UT rather than fully quitting.
Then again, all it looks like that activating the mod does is to relaunch UT with the -mod param set for you.
Too bad its not more like HL where you could activate and then de-activate your mod without having to reload the game everytime...
