Hi all, This has happened a good handful of times throughout the many patches of ChaosUT2.
In the UT2004/System Folder, the file ChaosUT2.ucl is different than the one in the UT2004/ChaosUT2/System folder. Which is fine.
But every now and again, the UT2004/System ucl file gets replaced with the one from the ChaosUT2/System folder, and it breaks the Chaos mutator from working until i recopy it over. I've even put a back up of that file on my desktop for replacing it as needed. It happened again last night, I had the server running normally, with the chaos mut, and all I did was shut down my server (which i run as a windows service) change an INI setting and restart the service. Sure enough, the chaosut mutator didnt load and I checked the UT2004/System ChaosUT2.ucl file and it was indeed the wrong size. Replaced it as usual and started up fine.
But whats the deal with the thing!? its like I have a ghost. So last night I made the file Read-only, lets see if that fixes anything.
Anyone else seeing weird things like this?

Well the ucl files change size during most of the patches, and as you know there is a ChaosUT2.ucl in the main System folder and a ChaosGames.ucl in the ChaosUT2\System folder. However.. there shouldnt be a second ChaosUT2.ucl in the ChaosUT2\System folder...
Also, you might try removing the chaos folder (and preferably anything chaos put in your normal System folder as well as your UT2004.ini) and using one of the full 360 installs.

Well thats the weird thing.. maybe its not coming from the Chaos/system folder but the correct 3.6 one is ~10.34k and the old one is ~9.7k from 3.01 i think, and ive replaced it, confirmed the replace, scanned my hd for additional copies, none were found. but after a few restarts, that file either disappears totally, or reverts back to the 9.7k one, and i've done no system restore or anything.. its a gremlin i tell you!!
