Is there any way I can get the .wav or playable sound file of the vengeance explosion?

If you could always open up UE, load the sound then export it as a wav....

Yup. All the music is stored in your ut2004/music folder. I think. It could be something else like ut2004/system/music.... But it's in there somewhere. It's in ogg format, so you should be able to play it with winamp. Winamp rules. Download the zippo skin.

and where can i get winamp?
can it be used in reverse (put my songs into Unreal?)

our music would be in the chaosut2\music folder.
www.winamp.com is where I would start
Not sure if you could put an mp3 into a map. You can get a converter that changes it to the ogg format...

if with putting your songs in unreal UT's built-in player can play MP3 okay,so no need for that

No open the unreal editor, load the sounds into the sound explorer, then export them from there.
