in the spirit of Doom...

how much trouble would it be to design and code a BFG (from doom)
looking at D3 BFG, itd probly be a bigger, darker slower eviler sky mine, plus the energy beams that trak other ppl an damage them as well, and finally the big explosion (wo0t!) no idea for alt fire (BFG ball detonation?)
i know theres alredy talk of the chain saw, (mentioned in another post), mebbe some one could alter existing weps to match Doom, jus for fun
UT RL=Doom RL
AR=Machine gun,
link gun=plasma cannnon
flak=glorified shot gun (but i think you alredy know that)

only think that would be different would be the soul-cube, which would also make a interesting weapon (ie, must be on a killing spree to use, then to use again user must Rampage ect...)
so hows it sound?

most of the guys at chaos dont approve of taking other ppl's ideas. /points at EE fiasco..... (stuck)

The bfg is iconic of doom, and simply adding it to chaos wouldnt do anything for the mod. At best it would only label chaos as simply a 2nd hand weapon design mod/mut. besides, the bfg is hugely destructive, it chews through the demons of hell, what chance does some jugg have against it? paste.

but a bfg was something we always talked about doing at some point in time. Now that it exsist in another ut mod does not make much sense to add it...

the bfg has its place. in doom (1,2,final,3......and whatevers next)

i dont beleive in taking iconic weaponry like that from games and adding it into mods, unless it is a mod designed specifically to do so, eg a ut doom mod. which would really be a waste of time anyway....

Yeah, we're better off working towards getting CUT2 to a point where we can be happy about it when we move on to another engine in the future. I'd personally be happy with a penguin launcher in game, but that's just me.

...JETPACK PROXY'S!!!!

If cut was to remake doom it could get in legal issue's if its weapons look, act and feel like the doom ones(not to mention there are enough big friggin guns out there already)

indeed.

however, i was always toying with the idea of using the d3 egine to remake doom. i reckon it'd be easy to replicate the old doom levels, and fill them with the new monsters. (yay! bring back "deadsimple" or "the courtyard" i got stuck on those for days on nightmare - courtyard has like 250 pinkys in it!!!!)

how amazos would d3 powering doom gameplay be. maybe ill wait until 2035 so that ppl can actually run the d3 engine with more than 5 monsters a level...lol
