have you activated the mod yet?
well if you havent, (to avoid double posting and that) fire up UT2004 normally, go to community then click on "user mods" on the top. click on chaosUT2 then click activate in the bottom right
now you can (hopefully, unless you have the same problem as me
) play HH and all the other rockin' game types.

dear me.... another problem guys. when i first downloaded the whole chaos thing, i had no problem installing it and that, but that was when i had the 3339 patch, now i have the 3355 patch and now i've re-downloaded it, it says " Failed requirements! UT2004 version: [3204]"
i can't understand why it's done this, as it installed perfectly before. im using a umod to install it and yes i did download the umod version. damn this sucks! i just want to play your freaking amazing mod!

well, i've tried everything and nope no luck. so have fun with your mod as it is a good one. as for me, i guess im just gonna move on and try and find something else for my tastes
....
thanks for the help anyway. i may check back from time to time and please do something about that stupid GUI thing, as it is a problem for many.
cheers.

You can try a full install over the top as that shold not effect any other mods you have. Sorry for your troubles.Jimmy wrote:well, i've tried everything and nope no luck. so have fun with your mod as it is a good one. as for me, i guess im just gonna move on and try and find something else for my tastes....

Sounds like a manifest.ini issue. It's something we've seen before, and it's not caused by Chaos. Somehow or another your manifest might have gotten messed up. It should say something like Version=3355 or whatever we are on now.Jimmy wrote:Failed requirements! UT2004 version: [3204]
Just to be clear about this..., there isn't a "stupid GUI thing". I believe what you are referring to are cases of improper or somehow botched installations (not having required files, etc).Jimmy wrote:...please do something about that stupid GUI thing, as it is a problem for many.
These are just basic things you might run into, it's the nature of the beast. If you wish to have your game updated often with patches from Epic, and to also download lots of free content, you will from time to time run into stuff.
But if you really want to play (Chaos, or whatever mod/mut you have your next problem with), then you just have to realize that you are frustrated, take a step back, take a deep breath, and reinstall or whatever it takes when you're ready again.
We've all been there. It's one reason consoles are so popular. None of this "work" involved to play. But most of us are here (and by that I mean gaming sites in general) because we accept it as the way it is.
And the fact is, the more you do it, the easier it becomes, and the less problems you'll have.
