Dueling robots

Post by lord_kungai »

I noticed something weird the other day while playing DUEL...

Why is it that robots (Only the UT2003 ones: Syzygy, Corrosion, etc.) tend to have longer range and hit exactly in front of them while all other players have less range and hit a little to the right?

It's just the animations and the skeletal systems. The robots actually hit much farther to the right than everyone else when crouched.

They ARE robots after all...

Robots in duel reminds me of anime. I guess its all that jumping and sword fighting...

WTMFSFHIGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If a robot gets a katana in heavy stance, it is INVINCIBLE (at least bots)!!!!!!!
NOT FAIR In THE LEAST!!!

At least if they had shorter range, no prob, but their range is increased!

Please! Somebody do something about this! (in the next PR perhaps)

Ummm...

Bots are insultingly easy to kill at any skill level with any melee weapon.

True...

but when you are facing off Corrosion and its got a katana in heavy stance, kinda unfair advantage to it. More specifically, other players tend to use this property of robots.

i havent notced this ot be fair. i usually pwn to the max any bots, including robots regardless of weapon. I myself play as SAxon, so im not sure if i myslef subject other players to any unfair swing tatcics...

what i will say about the katana is that there must be some trick to using it, cos ive never, ever had a kill using it. ever. its true. i can kill with the other weapons, but the katana is useless in my hands. :/

Katana requires precision. You need to be able to aim at the guy in order to use it effectively.

And the side-attacks are only useful if the enemy is to the left or right of you.

The thing is, I use the katana! It is very good for getting headshots, especially with the double-jump-somersault move. But it isn't good at blocking other weapons...

The one thing I dont like about the katana is the strong stance lunge move. It always hits the ground!

I don't like any of the heavy stance attacks for the katana. They just don't make sense to me.

Same with most of the hammer's attacks.

I just use the katana for quick kills. a medium stance with a katana is good for any situation.

The Double Axe heavy stance has the same animations, but more damage.
