a question about the speed relic.

Post by chaoskirina »

you guys ever find out how to cause the after-images of the old UT2003 speed relic? it would look sweet combined with the effects of the current speed relic. the only problems I found with it was that in melee when you stop with it on, the after-images mold into the position on UTpaint. that, and some custom models remain white on the after images when they are supposed to be colored. other than that, it is fine.

If you in some way lost the relic pack, you can find it at ut2003hq.com in the old UT2003 muts section. I will post some screenshots with just the speed relic (old) and both speed relics combined on duel. just to show you all what I am talking about.

anyway, you guys ever find out how the after-images are formed?

yea its a great idea
Are you talking about the Relics2k3 mutator ? I've used it on 2k4 for a very long time, and I like the visual effects of the speed relic. But the bot's model is white cause of this effect maybe for best performances.
I'd like to see the chaos relic of speed with this effect :) could be cool

There is another mutator called Relics Final Beta2 (2k4 mut). There are also cool effects, especially with their relic of speed. I found it at the same site. Just have a look at it.
Be excessive.

We never did get that working correctly. In UT2007 we can probably use a pixel shader effect to get a cleaner, smoother motion blur effect.
