Was just doing a few online botmatches.. and came up with a new trick:

Get vampirism, and toss out the big turret. Swap to machine guns. Enjoy a LOT of free healing as turret mows down opponents (as long as you dont die/lose relic).

Anyone else with a fun tip/trick? One i want to try out is kicking the vengeance ghosts =)


Edit: Oh yeah.. just headshotted myself with my sniper rifle...

Edit2: Ok, I think its possible to kick the ghosts from vengeance.. think i saw one get turned away briefly before i died. =)

Heres another small one:

Grapple jump: Hit grapple off once right as your grappling hook hits a wall. If you do it right, it will disconnect immediately but give you a small boost towards where the hook hit.

If you are too early nothing happens, if too late, you will go into grapple swing and have to hit off twice to disconnect the grapple, and because its a normal grapple disconnect, your momentum will be cancelled (you will stop in midair).

This can be useful for long midair jumps, you can use it as a repeatable double jump along a ceiling if very good at it.

Just messed around a little more with the vengeance kicking. Not only are the kickable, which allows you to delay them briefly (hoping for them to dissapate), but since they are blocked by walls, you can kick them into walls to kill them i beleive.

Chances are if 4 are after you, you will likely still die or come close to it.. but even with 10 health left, you can still snag another kill before dying.

they die in walls? is this a new feature or is it that they die in walls, but not terain?

i haven't tried it since 3.7, but i have a map i made where i always killed someone with vengence on the path on a big mountain, then i would jump off (i would just survive) and run back...... then i would always think (no matter how many times it happened) that they weren't chaseing me, then, just as i was getting ready to get back on the path to the top of the mountain, they would appear, flying through the side of the mountain towards me...... it really freaked me out!


of course, the mood was always spoiled when they disappeared in midair :( .

so they definatley used to go through terrain, i always assumed they went through walls too.

i think i lost that map when i reformatted, :( i really liked it, all it was was a big map with a mountain with a spiralling path up it (makeing spiralling paths in terrain is really hard, spent ages on that) on one side and a lake on the other (i never did manage to get water in it though :lol: )
the mountain had this little well right in the middle of it, and if you fell down the hole, you fell for about 20 seconds, really fun. crap texturing though. it was my second map ever, my first was an exact copy of one from a tutorial (well, it was my 4th really, my 2nd and 3rd were failed attempts at it, i made the maps too small)

Maybe im wrong.. i thought they died in the walls but i could be mistaken or it could have changed.

I thought they were a projectile, and just died like most projectiles when they hit a wall.

Some ideas:

1) Bloodlust:

- Mutators: Giblacious 2, CUT
- Instagib Melee in a tiny map (Serpentine, Gael, etc.), with Giblacious Mut on 10 Gib factor and always gib. Enjoy the slaughter!

2) Chaotic RPG

- Mutators: CUT, UT2004RPG
- Nuff' said

3) Vehicle madness

- Mutators: AllVehiclesArena, Vehiclestuff, CUT
- Change speeds, weapons and anything else of the vehicles. Enjoy!

4) Superweapon Arena

- Do I need to say anything?

Instagib melee Horde-Hunters in Duel-Colosseum with 40 monsters per round.

Also, I didn\'t think it was possible to shoot yourself with the sniper\'s ricochet. I remember specifically trying that against a flat wall.

Im 90% sure its possible, because i remember spending a day working on the code so that it WAS possible.

And i definately headshotted myself. Just remember, that where your first person view are and where your head is are different. I think, though am not sure, that your view is is above your head, so you have to aim slightly down to hit your body on the richochet.

Just wanted to emphise this point. What you see in your first person view has many emelents that are not in the Real Wold (insert Matrix back vibe here). Things like your weapon model for example are based on you own hud and other things dont map to the 3d space as well. So keep that in mind...

So it only works on headshots? Otherwise, it would still hit me in the body, but that hasn\'t happened either

try to go in slomo and see if you can see the bullet and follow where it goes....

Should work for body shots, just remember that you ahve to aim down some.

Also, i cant remember, jb might, whether or not the richochet has any jitter?
