Just wondering?

Post by Warhammer »

Hey you all, its been a long time. Chaos was awesome for UT and I bet it will be twice as good for UT2k3, which I got last christmas. The game is pretty good, the graphics are mind blowing, although I think Halo's graphics are even better but later with that, but what's with the lack of maps? Its like the improved graphics and gameplay but at the sacrifice of map count, its like there were tons of maps available for UT and I had many favorites, but in UT2k3 theres like nothing for maps. Granted I have a few downloaded from the map sites like Nali City and Unreal Playground, but its still not enough, like i wish there were more bombing run maps ('cause that mode is just awesome, hats off to epic). so far my favorites are Tokra Forest (DM), and Forest of Giants (CTF). But whats up with epic, if they continue to sacrifice map count for better gameplay then I'm moving on to other games or back to UT.
Sorry just had to ramble, its been such a long time.
Don't any of you think a PC version of Halo or Halo2 would be awesome, so then you could create another super mod for the game and improve on its very limited weapons loadout.
Overall UT2k3 is a great game, I just wish the bots were a little more challenging (even though the best bots from UT would get totally wiped when fighting bots from UT2k3).
Oh well gotta go, many things to do and I need to get back to my crash course in programing. see you all laterz.

Yes you have a point. Part of what made Halo look so good was the fact that you knew what hardware you were running on (GF3 style of video, Intel CPU, nV mobo chip set). Thus you can write your game to those specs and as halo showed us have an awesome looking game. However with a PC version now you haev uknows, what video card will they use, what kind of CPU and how fast, Intel, AMD, SiS, VIA, nV chipsets, Sound card and so on. With all of those you have to sacrifice some of the IQ to ensure it runs on everyones system. Its a tought choice.

Right now the UT2k3 is the most felxible and powerful engine out there as well as we have a good deal of experince with UT so it was only natural to work on that. But whats next is too far to guess...
