America's Army runs on The unreal warfare engine if I'm not mistaken Although it's probably not the same build , it will still have SOME similarities to the build UT2k3 uses. AA has an ear ringing flashbang that sounds pretty good . Maybe you could do some investigation there (they also have napalm grenades , so maybe you guys could take some clues from them on how to get the damage detection more flame to damage oriented.) It could'nt hurt to check it out , as America's Army is a free (although large 600mb) download , and even if you can't get any help out of it , it's still a good , and amazingly high quality game.

Ahh thanks. I played AA for the first few months. However what got me bored was the long round times that the servers use to run. I would find some servers with 8 minutes. Then with my luck I would die in the first 2 minutes, then have to wait for all the time to pass as you usally have one left at each side that were camping so it got really boaring. However they did have some nice effects. I did like some of thier maps (the brige one, then the one were you have to parachute in)....

If there isn't an AWO chosen yet for the grenade launcher , How about the AWO making Primary launch bouncing grenades , and secondary detonate those grenades. With this option you could set up a trap of flashes , or better yet , Poison or Napalm. Grenades could have a 30 second fuse , after which they would self detonate, And any grenades out on the floor that take any more than 5 damage could Harmlessly explode.
[EDIT] For an added touch of chaos , All the grenades could be set to the same frequency , and ALL grenades would explode when the Detonation signal is sent. also , to keep someone from hiding in a corner and detonating other peoples grenades , the Grenades have to be within 30 feet of the person sending the signal.

hey! how about this sword.. with a skull on it.. and you can swing it around, and gouge out peoples eyes with it... and and .... you could even KILL someone with it...

Sorry if this is on the wrong board...CUT2:E kicks ass! However, there's a couple of things I've got to bring up...Changing the ammo types on the crossbow, the grenade launcher, and other said weapons with the multiple ammo types...How do you do that? Second, the return of the Ripper and the REAL sniper rifle were a nice touch, but for crying out loud where's the ammo? It's reaaaaaaaaly hard to hit a moving target, and sometimes you do have to factor in that four letter "m" word (miss), and the ammo is few and far between...(and believe me, I've missed

) Just a few things for consideration. Other than that, it's fantastic! Keep me posted about the melee weapons, that's gonna be kickass!

There is a section under your Controls tab (in your normal UT2003 settings menu) for the chaos keybinds.. one of the keys is for switch ammo.
Note the sniper rifle isnt instant hit.. you have to lead a little bit.

There Havent been very many weapon Suggestions lately , So I figured I'd Throw one out there.
I had an MRI on the Knee earlier And While I was in there I thought of this...
Its a superweapon , so keep an open mind...
E.M.T.H.E.R.(Electro Magnetic Triple Homing Energy Rod)
This Weapon Looks like a Very Long Speargun (Longer than the Sniper Rifle , But Is Held vertically when not Firing) . The Weapon consists of two Sections , the Launcher , which is about 6 feet long and resembles a fishing rod without a Curve , And The Projectile , which Resembles A seven foot spear which attatches to a Small firing device about 2 feet from the Base of the Launcher.
The Projectile is Electromagnetically charged and has An effective range of about 60 meters , When Fired in Primary Mode , the large Spearlike Rod will fly through the air Homing to the degree that it will make a 70 degree turn and Impale anyone it hits , It will also continue going , so you could theoretically Skewer several people at once. Heres where the Electo magnetism comes in , As the Projectile flies , Thick bolts of electricity will jump to anything within 6feet , If it passes a player , it will Jump into them causing about 50 damage (more depending on how close they are ) The projectile will also Leave an Electromagnetic "Wake" that spreads like jet exhaust behid the spear. This wake , will draw in other Projectiles , but the Spear itself will actually repel them. anyone caught crossing the wake trail will take 5 dmg per second , and the wake trail will not dissipate for 15 seconds.
When Used in secondary , The Spear will fly forward for about 10 meters , and then split into Three seperate rods , and then home in on targets with great accuracy , however , the rods will not leave as strong of a Wake trail , and the wake trail will dissipate much faster.Each of the rods however , will have a much greater turning raius than their larger counter part , and would be capable of turns up to 150 degrees , the smaller rods will also lack the Bolts of electricity that arc to the surroundings.

Sorry, no. Copyright issues.
We discussed putting famous weapons (from games or movies) into the game and decided against it. There have been copyright issues for other mods lately and we don't want to risk that...

Imo, If you cant go all the way with something , Theres no point in making a cheap knockoff. it just detracts from that which made the original special.
btw , aside from looking cool in poses , what special functionality does the buster sword have?

it would act as a broad long sword I would think, hell you probably could even deflect bullets with it since the blade it self is pretty wide....

The Normal Melee weapons are planned to deflect bullets though...
