Driving Proxy?

So while beta testing you found that you could drive a vehicle with a proxy?

We need some pics of possessed proxys behind the wheel of a hellbender...

I think it would look something like the old granny you see driving down the road in a humvee...

Awesome! I was thinking about something like that, only with unpossessed proxies. What would happen if you allowed unpossessed proxies to hop on vehicles and go on rampages. It should probably require about 3 to just drive a vehicle (one controlling the wheel, one on the pedals, and one to see where they are going), and the driving should be a bit messed up to make it balanced. Turrets should probabably take 2 to operate. This would fix the problem of not having a gunner on the hellbender when you really need one.

Players should probably be allowed to kick out the proxies to gain access to the vehicle.

Just so theres no confusion , the Driving spyproxies were REMOVED , as they were bad for gameplay.

Awww....

What about unpossessed proxies driving vehicles? Maybe place a separate "proxy score" on the scoreboards like the turrets.

but then the proxies would be stealing your vehicles , would you really want that?

People already do that :(

Well, maybe you can add a voice command telling proxies to get off the vehicle or give them a lift or something. You can already force bots out of the driving position when they really suck at driving.

It would be really cool if you can actually get bots to give you a lift, like on the manta.

It would also be good if you can get proxies (and bots) to hop onto vehicles (manta wings) and jump off when the driver leaves, like Halo's marines.

And will proxies be able to attach to vehicles and stuff?

I think we were experimenting with using the same code that epic used to get grenades to stick to vehicles, for proxies. Not sure how that turned out though. I know that in the current IR you can't stick proxies to vehicles.

I wish we had an engine that allowed us to stretch objects realistically. Things don't get pulled into a black hole. They get extruded into it... exponentially increasing tidal forces as you approach the event horizon will actually stretch out your body into a thin stream of matter, pulling you apart faster nearer the event horizon.

It would be neat if things getting sucked into the Vtec would stretch out infinitely thinly. Very cool.

What I would like to see is the dynamic creation of an instant gib zone in between any two active vortexes. During our testing session, I was by chance caught exactly between two vortexes, and was basically held in the air, jittering around like crazy. Would be pretty cool to see someone explode in that instance, and thier gibs get sucked into both vortexes...

After hearing that include that in a patch after chaosUT2k4 comes out thats gonna be the funnyest ****. :lol:
