a chainsaw maybe??
would it be possible to do well?
Maybe,
but I have agreed to work with a few other people to create a real melee system. Right now the only one you have is a simple trace that starts at the player and stops when it hits something. It needs to follow an arc as melees do that, as well as hit more than one object. So unitl we get a good melee system in place it would not be worth your time. In fact thats one of the reasons why Melee's weapons were droped in this first beta!

I hope there is a sword for that system, and an axe, but I prefur a nice double edged long sword.

Oh yeah, talk to me!
A sword from Spa, an Axe, and a Big Arsed Chainsaw to round things out would be great!. We have had some really cool saw vs. blade duels on MooTowns Q2Chaos over the years.
And if there is more to play with, all the better. But yeah, I think a very meaty saw, with really nasty oversized crooked rusty teeth, would be a very pleasant experience.

I always loved the way the CUT sword would get bloodier with each kill. I think the chainsaw (and all melee weapons) should start out nice and shiny and clean and then it's up to you to get em all meaty and bloody and stuff. Could there be a way to allow gibs or parts of corpses to randomly stick to melee weapons once they reached the maximum level of "bloodiness"?
Perhaps melee weapons could even start dripping blood once they collected 5 or more gibs, and leave blood splats with each drip...
Ok now I'm starting to get carried away...
