For those wondering at the logic behind this: the upcoming patch is supposed to break compatibility with previous patches. Since we had to release for the phase 4 deadline, but the patch had not come out yet, we had to make a decision. We chose to go ahead and make it with the patch version, so we would not have to release a patch when epic's comes out (plus this way we could make sure the code worked with the new patch).halprin wrote:You need the the latest unnoficial epic patch. By the log you posted you have the last offical patch from Epic. This version requires the new beta version by Epic. If you have this patch then you would see something like this: UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2004-09-03_15.30]shoutanenjeru1 wrote:I already have the latest patchhalprin wrote:You need the the latest unnoficial epic patch. edit by jedi: just want to say that installing this patch could cause problems connecting to unpatched servers online. For more info, see the announcement post i made at the top of the section
AFAIK, the released patch maintains compatibility. What epic wants to do is to force the server browser to only show 3323 and later servers, essentially forcing people to upgrade if they already haven't. This is probably to establish a new baseline once ECE is public.jeditobe1 wrote:For those wondering at the logic behind this: the upcoming patch is supposed to break compatibility with previous patches.
