Is there a way to see your player in 3rd person?

behindview 0 is first person
behindview 1 is 3rd

some gametypes like Deathmatch wont let you go 3rd person.. but you can if you are logged in as admin

Why not in deathmatch? That is stupid.

He ment in on-line games. Going into 3rd may give your an advantage that other players in 1st mode will not have (like you can see people sneaking up behind you in 3rd mode). So to level the playing feild Epic made it an server side option to disable 3rd view if the server admin wanted to.

Yea i dont understand that either.. something about using it to see around corners makes it unfair or something.. but hell everyone can do it so whats teh big deal.. ask Cliffy B.

You can see around corners in 3rd person just by turning your view. However, you can't play properly in 3rd person, as the center of the camera focuses on your torso, and you can't aim up or down.

Hmmm...

Can you change the melee 3rd person camera so that it floats a bit higher than the character? That way, when you get backed into the corner, you won't end up with the model's butt in your face, but the camera would be just above the character's head.

is there any way to override the 3rd person veiw in Duel? i just wanted to know to make it easier to take screenshots for my level previews. woth boneyard, i had to save the map as a DM and then play it with no HUD to get nice material sequence shots. In duel, the damn player gets in the way! f4 and the "cheats" to do this dont seem to work either...

When taking screenshots, I just turn off my HUD and start the map. You can fly around taking pics until you click to start the match. Or you can play as spectator (with HUD turned off) if you want to show bots duking it out. Hope this helps.

You should be able to hid the hud, then just dont click on fire to join the match...if that does not work...let me know..
