CTD on startup

Whenever I run Chaos UT2: Evolution from the "Community" menu, I get the following error.

UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2004-11-11_10.48]

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 1676 MHz with 511MB RAM
Video: MSI MS-StarForce GeForce FX 5700 (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700) (5214)

Could not spawn a GUI Controller!

History: UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Free

I am using UT2004. Can anyone help? This mod looks awsome, and I'd love to play it.

I'm using a No-CD hack, but I don't think that that's the problem. But then agian, what do I know?

EDIT: Oops, wrong forum. Could a mod please move this?

only the unpatched game has a cd check,sooooo no-cd is propably a older exe,soooo its bad,so reinstall the patch to get back the original,nocd,newest version exe

1.The latest patch
2.Bonuspack

OK, I'll try that. I just assumed that it wasn't the No-CD hack because the error message didn't mention my CD-key. Fourtunately I saved my old EXE. Thanks.

do you have the ECE bonuspack?
which version is youre game?

if not sure,get the patch and BP from BeyondUnreal

How did you install it?did you follow the readme's instructions?

I have the ECE bonuspack, and patch version 3339.

This may be the problem: I first used the zip intall, but because it didn't appear on the "Community" menu, I then downloaded the UMOD version, and installed it. I didn't remove the faulty zip install however. I used PR version 3.6 both times.

EDIT: Also, I used the full install, not the patches.

lets start

1.what order did you patch in,3339-ECE-CUT or something else
2.have you tried reinstalling becouse from the didnt appear on the community menu soudns like a bad install,which inturn could mess it up
3.try deleting chausut.ini and chaosutuser.ini or something like that īn /chaosut/system

Reinstalling is a last measure,and i dont suggest it if there is anotehr way

I deleted all Chaos files and reinstalled- it worked! Thanks TKATK.
