Updates....????

Post by Iceboy »

I've been checking the web page and this forum for the last 3 weeks or so and haven't seen a whole lot of activity...

I'm sure you guys are still working on this, but being fans of both you guys and Free-Monkey's UTXMP mod, and neither team talking about dev updates is making me a tad nervous.

I saw the new melee weapons, and they look HOT!!! :D

I'm really hoping that 3.7 is on its way soon, since I'm kinda waiting for the new version so I can switch my server to Chaos for a while as a celebration of the mod...

BTW, have there been any new spraypaint packs released by Nathjan or Trel? I think I have all the ones they released a while ago, but I don't see any new ones on these forums...

That seems to be the case these days... There's been quite a few "we need help" news posts on the news sites by various mod teams.

Meh, the UT2k4 mod scene is cooling down, so it's not surprising. Once Chaos moves to a newer engine things'll pick up, but that won't happen for a good long while, probably no sooner than late August/September at earliest, and even then it'll just be checking out the available engines for the best host for Chaos. I wouldn't hold my breath for an engine change.

a shame is that i dont see any hyped moddable games coming out soon(atleast announced ones) so it may be longer if CUT doesnt want to use a engine like torque shader

And its not that we have not been working on stuff. We have. Lots of changes are set to show up soon. Just time is never on our side :)

I never said I doubted that you guys were doing stuff. But the weekly forum updates seemed to be waning, which had me worried... :(

On the subject of another engine the most likely candidate for the next CUT2 engine would be UE3 as the engine would be familliar to all the folks here at chaos.

i think if u guys were to stick to UE3, u would already have a talented team that could get quickly aqauinted with the engine, and hopefully get a workable mod up quite quickly, as oppose to porducing a mod near the end of another engines life...(takes so long to learn new editors etc)

I'm sure we'd get a warm reception from the Quake community if we were ever to do anything for Quake 4.
