We could make a realistic limiter, like every player that grapples to a vehicle reduces its max speed a bit and increases the gravity effecting the vehicle. So with 3 or 4 players attached, a raptor would barely be able to stay in the air.

Ofcourse, the Board will still be a vehicle so it will be subject to all of the Vehicle Rules, Wich will mean that missles will lock on the board.
ahh there we go that answers my question.

Yes, too many grapples make the raptor come down fast...

How about hooking up to another hoverboard and then let the rope mow
down players that get between the two boards. I don't know if thats possible but it would be nice riding along with a teammate decapitating enemies with the rope. A side effect would be that if they go round a pole the rope would catch itself there and the riders might crash if they dont release the grapple which would make it a bit harder to drive that way.

L O L. yaknow, it really is possible to do stuff like that. If you guys kinda found out the secret to the ninjarope mut at ut2k3 hq.com, which has lots of grappling and stuff, it could add more effects to the game.

we've already reviewed the ninja rope and have put much thought into implementing features similar to it , although , that would limit some of the special grapple moves that most of our players are used to.

Limits as in..? I still believe that the ability to grapple onto a person with a ninja rope and drag their dead corpse around is fun.

A realistic grapple would be a sensible "evolution". There's nothing that says we would need to change the control scheme, just allow the rope to bend around objects. It should still basically work the same way, but would have a more realistic feel to it, so you get the best of both worlds. I'm for it, if we can do it.

well the moves that would be limited would namely be grapple orbiting and certain aspects of grapple slingshoting , for the record , I'm for implementing ninja rope features as well , but I also dont want those two abilities impeded.

I guess what you'd want is a pretty leniant sort of rope, kind of strechy, then.

I would like a limit, but not a hardcoded one. More like 'for every 'passenger', the altitude limit of flying vehicles is lowered by x%, and the speed of all vehicles is lowered by x%.

Shuri, that kinda what i was thinking, but i was thinking that one of the advantages to using the Hover Board would be that penalty would be negated. ;)
