Dont like CPP?
I say maybe give it a different ammo for alt fire, like an explosive projectile ammo (explosive bullet) but still keep it kinda small, it could do maybe 1.5-2x damage as a regular round and give a small explosive effect. I would also change the color or something on it because it just seems like it doesnt belong.
How do you charge up bullets?
My only suggestions are for more ammo, new skin (why is it pink?), and a use for that proxy sitting there (what is it doing there?). Oh, and maybe a zoom function for an alt-fire for single pistols, and a separate trigger for a second pistol when you're going akimbo. That way, you can decide whether to alternate firing each pistol to increase firing rate, or fire both at once for increased damage.

At this point, I don't really care what we do with the CPP anymore. Theres good arguments on both sides of the issue. I think a throwable ammo option would be a great starting weapon. Pick up any ammo and use it like a weapon, but without a weapon. Would be a good way to keep yourself alive until you get a gun, but you'd be wasting the ammo you find since it wouldn't be as effective without being fired from a gun, but could still be capable of doing some decent damage if you were good at it. Lots of pro's and cons, which makes for good gameplay.

Here's my idea to make the CPP better:
Make it use the MUG fire and Ice ammo. With fire, primary attack is a burst of heat-based laser fire. This should be insta-hit, fire at the same rate as the CPP secondary, and burn people if they get hit enough. Secondary is a charge-up blast that launches a ball of orange energy in a slow arc, exploding on contact and burning stuff. The ice primary should be like the fire primary, only blue, ice-based and can freeze people. The secondary of this weapon will have the same charge-up concept, only as the energy-ball flies, it leaves a trail of icy vapor that can injure/freeze enemies. The blue energy-ball will freeze people and vehicles and send shards of jagged ice flying on contact with something.
This new version of the CCP should be remodeled to look like a cool, futuristic sort of water gun, with the fire/ice bottles stuck in the back to make it look like the water compartment.
