here are some WIP of the Relic Effects (keep in mind they could change a lot from now until the time we ship out the next PR version). The idea was to try to have some sort of visual clue to what relic the player had. So we used a combination of effects to do this. Some are overlayers, some are emitters attached to players. We tried not to do the same thing. Some of the effects have more than one visual to them. Any ways....hear ya go
The first one tries to show what happens when you hit a player. Its very hard to see in the screen shot but it shows the enemies "blood" that you just hit..leaving them and entering your player. The 2nd pic is the overlay effect of the player with the vamp relic.
The effect is about half the size of a redeemer explosion. The actual gameplay effect isn't nearly strong enough IMO... But hopefully that will change.
Shield was made a little big so that it fits around large custom models, but I think it would look best if it only came on when hit. That was discussed as well and, like Jedi says, its still being tweaked. Looks good in-game though, since it animates. It has a kind of cool glow to it.
As for the venge explosion, personally I think the lethal range should be increased and the damage falloff should be more shallow. Right now, even when im close enough that the explosion fills my screen I feel like I'm getting hit by a gust of wind and thats about it. Ah, maybe I should save this for the dev forum.
